Error provider_auth

Key check failed

Hetzner refused the token Rockslab used for your account. Usually it was revoked, deleted, or made read-only.

What you saw

Reading the account failed prod
The cloud refused the credential. — 401 unable to authenticate

The account's dot on Infrastructure turns red as well.

What to do

  1. 1

Make a new token in Hetzner

Hetzner Cloud Console → the project → Security › API tokens → Generate API token, with Read & Write.

  2. 2

Replace it on the same credential

Credentials → the account's Hetzner key → replace the value. Do not add a second account for the same project — repair the first.

    Open Credentials ↗

  3. 3

    Run the operation again

The account reads its inventory again by itself; for the failed operation, open it and run it again.
